Hello! I haven't added here any new posts for over two years now, but I see you still read my story, and that's absolutely insane! Thank you! I'm writing this post to give you some news that you maybe don't know about. Well, I have published two books since I stopped publishing here - Once Upon a Time There Were Two Poetry Books... & Laura's Diary - My Awesome Life . And I got a new blog now. It's called Get Inspired ,   and it's about my own cultural news. I also have a store with signed copies of my books, and there is a very nice merch that you can buy cheaper thanks to The Christmas Sale now. You can consider buying anything from me until midnight 27th December CET if you wanna save money and maybe buy presents. Oh, and I have a podcast where I talk about poetry and music. I mean it's an audiobook and commentary kind of thing where I talk about the meaning and inspiration that made me write certain works. It's called Romantic Wednesdays With...

Note No. 42. End of Mountain Walks

21 st August 1819   Excommunication by society is a punishment for not holding tight on to tradition and conventions. Unfortunately, we live in such a world where we must adjust to culture to… live. That is why every minute and domain is put in very narrow borders. There is no other option like accepting these models and looking for freedom in this golden cage. That is why a human can never experience happiness. That is why love can come when you are already married, given to another. When you are choosy, you will go to a monastery. Weddings are conventional too. I have already thought it through, so I do not have to repeat. It will be better to tell you a story of my friend who ended badly. According to her position, she married a man who was older than her, definitely too old for her. In the end she met a young handsome colonel and… And it ended with tragedy for her own wish. Yes. They started meeting publicly at racings, in theatres, even at the street so she was excomm...

Note No. 41. Time to Pack and Prepare Weddings

20 th August 1819   Ah, so it is time to start packing coffers… Such news yesterday and more today! Two weddings! Ah! So much work in palace is waiting for me! I must project new chamber for our heir with architects, buy jewel-encrusted cradle, plan Catherine’s wedding with coachman, inspect the state of palace after our absence, order servants meeting, such a troop overview… What more? Take care of my health and appropriate child’s growth, waive horse rides for few months, plan William’s brother wedding with Juliette, it must take place in our palace necessarily… Still not all! Both weddings should be at the same time so literally everybody will have fun, then my play needs to be done during carnival celebrations… Ah! So many thoughts almost at one exhale! Ah! So grateful I am! So much work! So many things! Changes, changes, changes! Extremely thankful I am, my sweet Lord! My dearest William is next to me and two kids! Joy fill my bones! Grace and love fill my body! Ah! Sudde...

Note No. 40. Crowns and Bright Sons

19 th August 1819   Today note I am starting with a story of my brother. How such a poor aristocrat could deserve a crown of such a noble country? Chose très simple (a really simple  thing ) – for service – just like John Sobieski once before, about whom my mother used to like to talk. He represented an ideal man and lover in her eyes. He was her Apollo of dreams… But it does not matter anyway… What matters? My comparison looks good… Well, my brother is like him. Maybe that is because of the way he was raised, because she had a huge impact on it… I am getting off the track again… My brother is mainly a soldier, warrior. This is it. His political-military service has given him a crown. I really cannot write today… I am not feeling… well… I will be back soon…   *In the evening*   And everything became lumineux comme soleil (bright like a sun… or son). Doctor has just drove away from our manor house… So, you are really among us, my dear William Anthony! O...

Note No. 39. Gothic Houses, Hymns and Duties

Image
18 th August 1819   Ah! Today is the day! My Gothic House is finally being built! If everything goes well, it will be ready to take a first bath next year! I am so extremely excited! Okay, that is the news of the day, but I feel I should write something more than these few sentences… Well… What can I say? What can I think…? Hmm? Because I can think when I am alone. When I was younger, I absolutely could not show others that I have a brain. I am not a man! I was only a miss! Now I am married, alone in my room… I am free! I can ask myself questions! I can even jump! Now I think I start to understand why I always heard that  get married as fast as possible. I am finally living! I can finally breathe! Talking of breathing… I have already met here so many ill people. I have never mentioned this because I have always been walking with William and my darling has always been the most important then but… Now I start to see how precious this place is! And how valuable it is ...

Note No. 38. Horses, Theatre and Love

17 th August 1819   I am in mood to stay in bed today. All I want to do is to listen to his heartbeat. Not only I found him, also found two horses in front of our manor! Such a surprise! I did not know that we have a stable here! William brought here everything, also a special lady’s saddle and a black equestrian clothing. I immediately wanted to try it on (I looked even elegant; oh yes it fits me well) and try to ride a horse at the courtyard. I did not fall, and I saw that he was extremely proud of me. Before we go home, we can go for rides more often. That is nice. Then we will take our horses home and we will ride around our English park often too. Or that menagerie on the other side of the lake will be better… To be honest, it was my little childhood dream and now he suddenly decided to make it come true! Every day I love him more, normally! Also, today I finally sent the letter to an actress with my script and William’s sheets. This winter and carnival are going to ...
